Panera was also the first time I ever saw anyone put fruit on a salad. It seemed a little weird, especially with chicken too, but after a while that became my favorite way to eat a salad.
This recipe is adapted from Southern Living's Baby Blue salad, though I've changed it a bit to suit my taste.
Summer Fruit Salad
1 bag spring mix salad greens
1/2 pint strawberries, quartered
1/2 pint blueberries
1 orange, peeled and sectioned
2 ounces feta cheese, crumbled
Mix all ingredients together and serve with your favorite salad dressing.
Also, vary it by adding whatever fuits you like. I've added dried cranberries, and I've always thought bits of apples or maybe grapes would be good, too.

not to completely gross you out, but remember the grasshopper? i remember that you vowed never to eat at panera again :)
ReplyDeleteThis sounds so good! Thanks for participating in WWWEW! I hope to see you next week!
ReplyDeleteSprinkle on a few sliced toasted almonds or crushed pecans for a little crunch. Yummo! I love a textured salad.
ReplyDeleteSounds so good!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like it would be a great summer salad.
Sounds delicious to me :)
ReplyDeleteHi Kristy! Thanks for your comment on my blog! Re: your question about the art wall window... yes, after I taped in my square, I painted the latte wall color over the tape along the inside edge of the square, basically, the latte color sealed the tape, and any paint that would have bled, did so with the latte color, I then painted my secondary color within the square, and didn't have to be too careful when pulling off the tape! It worked like a charm!
ReplyDeleteI think fruit adds something to salads!...this sounds delicious
ReplyDeleteOh yum!!! I'm trying to eat healthier... but why is it all the bad food is cheaper? :)
ReplyDeleteWhile I have had a salad with fruit on it before, I never thought to make my own. Too skeerd, I guess ;) hehe
ReplyDeleteIt sounds awful yummy to me though!
